New Wirral hotel getting ready to tee off
The North West is to get a new multi-million pound base for golfing breaks.
A new £5.5m Holiday Inn Express hotel is set to open in the heart of Wirral’s golfing community, in Hoylake, on Monday 23 April 2012.
Holiday Inn Express Liverpool-Hoylake will also feature a Frankie’s New York Italian restaurant, a collaboration between celebrity chef Marco Pierre White and champion jockey Frankie Dettori.
The hotel’s general manager, John Brown, has also set himself the challenge to learn how to play golf, from his current beginner’s position, over the coming months so he can share his own experiences with his guests.
The 56-bedroom hotel, which will be a flagship venue for the next generation of Holiday Inn Express hotels, will also feature a digital indoor practice room for those that want to practice their swing away from the course.
After a long day on the links, guests can recharge at the 155-seater Frankie’s New York Italian, which will offer a selection of fresh pastas, steaks, seafood, burgers and handmade pizzas, while its stylish bar area offers a full range of cocktails, wines and beers.
John Brown, said: “The hotel is located very close to a number of excellent golf clubs and courses, not least Royal Liverpool, so we’re expecting a high volume of golfing enthusiasts through our doors.
“We want to make golfers as welcome as possible and are looking into added extras such as the practice room, to enhance their stay. We have the perfect mix of quality, comfortable accommodation at the hotel alongside the contemporary, relaxed restaurant and bar at Frankie’s.
“I’m a relative beginner when it comes to golf, I’ve played it a little and I enjoy it. I’m keen to improve my game though and will be a grateful recipient of any tips that our guests might have over the coming months.”
